Whitelist Email Addresses with Google G Suite

If you are not receiving emails from MediaOS that you are expecting, it is possible that Google’s G Suite is marking these messages as spam. Setting up a safelist within your Google Admin console helps ensure that important communications from MediaOS reach your inbox without unnecessary filtering.

How to Whitelist Email Addresses or Domains #

To begin, sign in as an administrator to your Google Admin Console. From the Admin console Home page, navigate to Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail > Spam, Phishing and Malware. On the left-hand side, select the appropriate Organizational Unit where you want the whitelist to apply.

Point to the Spam section and click Configure. If the spam setting has already been configured, you can point to the existing setting and choose Edit or Add Another to modify it. When creating a new setting, enter a unique name or description to easily identify it. Check the box labeled Bypass spam filters for messages received from addresses or domains within these approved senders lists.

Click Use Existing List if you already have a list prepared, or select Create or Edit List to manage your approved senders manually.

Creating a New Safelist #

If you need to create a new safelist, start by clicking Create or Edit List. Scroll to the bottom of the Manage Address Lists section and click Add Address List. Enter a name for your new list so you can easily recognize it later. Click Add Address to start adding the email addresses or domains you wish to whitelist. You can separate multiple entries with spaces or commas.

For example, if the email address you want to whitelist is JDoe@TestMagazine.com, you can simply enter TestMagazine.com to safelist all emails coming from that domain. Once your entries are complete, click Save to save the new address list. After setting up your list, make sure to click Save again at the bottom of the settings page to apply the changes.

Important Note About Whitelisting Changes #

When you whitelist email addresses or domains in Google G Suite, it can take up to 24 hours for the changes to take effect. If you do not immediately see the missing emails appear in your inbox, it is likely they will start coming through within a day.
