Delivery Pipeline Guide

Use Kanban-style pipelines to track content, ad requests, and flat plan progress across your delivery team—from pitch to print-ready.

Why Set up Pipelines in MediaOS? #

Pipelines in MediaOS provide a visual, stage-based workflow that helps teams track where work stands at any moment. Designed with a Kanban-style interface, these pipelines are perfect for editorial, ad production, or layout teams that need transparency, consistency, and automation. While pipelines can be created for areas like Accounts, Contracts, Deals, Invoices, and more, this guide focuses on building pipelines specifically for Content, Ad Requests, and the Flat Plan.

Note: For instructions on creating pipelines in other areas of MediaOS, see the related article on Pipeline Overview.

Setting Up a Content Pipeline for Delivery #

To begin building a Content Pipeline, navigate to the Automation tab in the left-hand menu, then click Pipelines at the top of the screen. From the submenu just below, select Content to manage or create editorial pipelines.

Click + New Pipeline to create a new board, or use Select Pipeline to view and manage existing ones. When prompted, enter a name for your pipeline and click Create Pipeline to proceed.

Now you can begin structuring your workflow. Click + Add Pipeline Status to add the first stage of your editorial process. In the pop-up, name your status—for example, Story Pitch, Assigned, Ready for Review, Needs Revisions, or Approved—and assign a color for visual clarity. Click Save and continue adding as many statuses as needed to reflect your editorial flow.

Once your content pipeline is built, you can begin tying automations to each status for things like task assignments, notifications, or next-step triggers. For more on automation setup, visit the section on Tying Automations to Pipeline Statuses.

Setting Up and Ad Request Pipeline #

To create an Ad Request Pipeline, remain in the Automation tab and return to Pipelines. From the dropdown just below, select Request to manage ad request workflows.

Click + New Pipeline, assign it a name, and click Save Pipeline to create the board. To define your workflow, click + Add Pipeline Status and begin entering stages relevant to ad production. Common statuses include Request Received, Materials Received, Design in Progress, Proof Ready for Review, Proof Declined, and Approved.

As with the content pipeline, name each stage, assign a color, and click Save. These statuses will help your team track each ad’s progress from intake to final approval. Once statuses are created, you can attach automations that move tasks forward as each ad progresses through the pipeline.

Flat Plan Pipeline Setup #

Flat plan production benefits from its own pipeline so that layout and production teams can track the status of each page. From the Automation tab, select Pipelines, then choose Flat Plan Page from the menu.

Click + New Pipeline to begin and enter a name for your flat plan pipeline. Click Save Pipeline to confirm and begin configuring your statuses. Use + Add Pipeline Status to build out your layout workflow. Examples of common statuses include Content, No Status, In Progress, Complete, Print Ready, and Error.

Assign a name and color to each status and click Save. Once your pipeline is created, you can integrate automation steps to alert stakeholders, update statuses, or handle asset transitions automatically.
