Tracking performance starts with setting clear goals. MediaOS allows you to create and manage both sales and activity goals, helping your team stay focused and accountable throughout the sales cycle. With custom filters and group visibility settings, you can tailor each goal to match your business objectives.
Getting Started with Goals #
To begin, click Sales from the left-hand navigation menu, then select Goals at the top of the screen. From here, click + New to create a new goal.
In the Preferences panel on the left, enter the basic goal information. Start by naming your goal and selecting an icon and color to visually represent it. You can also choose to enable Allow All Sales Reps to See Each Other’s Sales Totals if you want to foster transparency across your team.
If your organization uses user groups, select the appropriate User Group from the dropdown. This will limit visibility to members of that group only. Next, choose your Goal Type—either Sales or Activity—and set the Time Units, which define how frequently the goal repeats (e.g., weekly, monthly, quarterly).
Be sure to set the correct Date Range, as this determines when the goal starts and how often it resets. From there, use the Sum Method to specify how progress should be tallied—most goals use the Sold By field, but you can also track by Account Owner if needed. Finally, choose how to Recognize Revenue by selecting either Insertion Date (the date the ad runs) or Sold Date (the date the deal is closed).
Once these fields are complete, click Save to proceed.
Configuring Sales Goal Filters #
If you are creating a Sales Goal, you'll now use the Filter Data section on the right-hand side to refine the criteria that determine what counts toward the goal. The broader the filter, the more data will be included—so it’s best to start broad and adjust as needed.
One common filter is by Product. Use the Product dropdown to select one or more products to include in the goal. You can also filter by Contract Status, such as Won or Proposal, to focus the goal on a specific sales stage.
Other available filters include Contract Type, Sold By, Insertion Tags, and Payment Plan Status. If you use multiple filters, only deals that meet all selected criteria will contribute to the goal.
Creating Activity Goals #
If you're creating an Activity Goal, the setup process is similar. You’ll be prompted to select the Activity Types you want to track—such as calls, emails, meetings, or follow-ups—and apply filters as needed. The goal will then tally activity entries that match your criteria within the designated date range.
