Track exactly how payments are applied at the line item level for precise financial oversight in MediaOS.
Why Use the Payment Allocation to Line Item Report #
The Payment Allocation to Line Item Report allows you to see exactly where client payments are applied across individual invoices and products within MediaOS. It’s an essential tool for accounting teams looking to validate how revenue is distributed, spot discrepancies, and ensure accurate reconciliation. This report is especially helpful when reviewing cash flow tied to specific products or sales reps over a defined time period.
Because of the sensitive nature of the financial data involved, this report can only be exported for offline review. It cannot be saved to your dashboard like other MediaOS reports.
How to Access the Report #
To run the Payment Allocation to Line Item Report, start by clicking on the Reports tab in the left-hand navigation menu. From there, select Payment Allocation to Line Item Report from the list of available reports. Once inside, you’ll be able to apply a wide variety of filters to tailor the results to your exact reporting needs.
The flexibility of the filter options makes this one of the most customizable reports in the MediaOS suite, allowing you to refine your data set before export.
Filtering Options #
Begin with the Specific Product filter. This allows you to either isolate a single product or select multiple products for a broader view, depending on the focus of your analysis.
Use the Account Name filter to narrow results down to a particular client or group of clients. This is especially useful for reviewing how incoming payments have been allocated across different campaigns or product lines for a single account.
For additional detail, leverage the Entered By and Sold By filters. Entered By shows who processed the payment into the system, while Sold By tracks the sales rep responsible for the original sale—allowing you to attribute payments to individual team members if needed.
Finally, make use of the Payment Applied Date and Payment Date filters for even greater accuracy. The Payment Applied Date refers to when a payment was officially tied to an invoice, whereas the Payment Date captures when the payment was initially entered into the client’s account. These two dates can differ, so being able to filter by either gives you full flexibility for reconciling transactions by period.
Tip: Because this report is export-only, be sure to finalize all desired filters before running and downloading your results.
