Prevent page jumps and deliver a smoother user experience by keeping your ad placements consistent in size with MediaOS.
Why Fixing Ad Slot Height Matters #
When ads rotate through a placement, differences in creative sizes can cause the page layout to shift unexpectedly. This not only creates a disruptive user experience but can also negatively impact engagement and time-on-site metrics. Fixing the height of your ad slots ensures that all ads remain within a consistent frame, maintaining a stable layout as ads rotate in and out.
How to Keep Your Ad Slot Height Fixed #
To enable fixed ad slot heights for a specific website, start by navigating to the Websites tab in MediaOS. On the right-hand side of your dashboard, locate the site you want to adjust and click Settings next to that website’s name.
Inside the site settings, click on the Ad Server tab at the top of the page. Scroll down to the bottom of the Ad Server settings where you will find the option labeled Keep Ad Slot Height Fixed. Toggle this setting On to activate fixed-height functionality for that site's ad placements.
Once enabled, the height of the first ad that loads into the slot will determine the maximum height for that placement. Any subsequent ads must match or be smaller than that original height to be displayed properly. For example, if the first ad served is 300px tall, future ads must be 300px or less in height to fit the fixed slot without causing any layout changes.
By using this setting, you can maintain a clean, consistent layout across your website even when multiple creatives rotate through a single ad space, delivering a smoother and more polished browsing experience for your visitors.
