Auto-Created Deals: Why Enable Them? #
Auto-created deals simplify the way you track opportunities by automatically generating deals when proposals are sent. This reduces manual work, speeds up your process, and ensures that every potential sale is consistently recorded. Instead of relying on users to remember to log new opportunities, the system does it for you—keeping your pipeline structured and your reporting accurate.
Creating Deals Manually #
Manual deal creation gives your sales team flexibility to log opportunities that fall outside automated workflows. This option is ideal when a lead hasn’t gone through the proposal process or when your team wants to get ahead of the sales conversation.
To manually create a deal, open the account you want to associate the opportunity with. From the account’s detail panel, click the Options button in the upper-right corner and choose Deal/Opportunity from the dropdown. This opens the deal entry panel where you can enter the deal’s probability, expected value, closing date, a short summary, and the next steps. You can also apply tags to categorize or filter deals later.
In the Product Forecast section, you can build out a preliminary proposal by selecting relevant products, assigning values, and indicating the months you expect to close. Once you save the deal, it appears in the upper-right of the account panel for easy access and tracking.
Navigating the Deals Pipeline #
The Deals Pipeline provides a drag-and-drop interface that lets your team visually manage open opportunities. It helps you monitor deal progress and collaborate across the sales process without losing track of where each deal stands.
To access the pipeline, go to the top navigation bar and select Sales > Deals. From here, you can view your deals sorted into different pipeline stages. Each stage—such as cold, warm, hot, closing, or lost—is configured by your Administrator to match your sales process. You can click and drag any deal from one stage to another, giving you full control over how deals advance.
You can also use the magnifying glass icon to apply filters and search parameters, tailoring your view to focus on specific pipelines, stages, or team members. This flexible system allows your sales team to work efficiently without clutter or confusion.
Note: Stage names and pipeline layouts vary depending on how your MediaOS Administrator has set them up.
How Auto-Created Deals Work #
When auto-creation is enabled, MediaOS automatically generates a deal every time you create a new proposal and assign it to a pipeline. This removes the need for manual logging and ensures the opportunity is immediately placed into the appropriate pipeline stage.
Once the proposal is sent, the linked deal appears in the Deals section with all relevant proposal details included. This seamless connection between proposals and deals keeps your data clean, your workflow efficient, and your pipeline always up to date.
Enabling Auto-Created Deals #
To activate auto-created deals, click your profile avatar in the lower-left corner of the screen and select System Settings. In the left-hand menu, choose General Settings, then scroll to the Deals section.
Find the Auto Create Deals dropdown and select the pipeline stage where new deals should be placed. Once enabled, every new proposal you generate will trigger the creation of a corresponding deal assigned to that status.
Warning: You must have an active pipeline created before this feature can be used.
