Linking your social media accounts to your website ensures visitors can easily find and follow your brand across platforms. This article walks you through the process of connecting your site’s social icons using the WordPress customizer.
How to Connect Your Site's Social Accounts #
To begin, log into WordPress and open the Dashboard for the website you want to edit. Once you’re logged in, hover over the site name in the top left corner of the dashboard and select Visit Site. For ease of use, consider opening this in a new browser tab.
From the homepage, click Customize in the top menu bar to access your theme settings. On the left-hand panel of the customizer, select the section titled Social, Like, and View. This will take you to the area where you can manage your social icons.
Next, click on the first Social Icon placeholder to begin adding your links. In the dropdown menu, select the social platform you’d like to connect, then enter the URL for that social account in the field provided. You can repeat this process to add as many social icons as needed, adjusting the platform and URL for each one.
Once all your links are entered, click Publish at the top of the customizer panel to save and apply your changes. Your connected social accounts will now appear as icons on your website, allowing visitors to easily engage with your brand across multiple channels.
