The Forecast tool in MediaOS gives Sales Managers and Sales Reps a clear view into future revenue and potential pipeline gaps. With powerful visual reports and flexible filters, it helps your team spot opportunities, track progress, and forecast sales with confidence.
Accessing the Forecast Tool #
To begin forecasting sales, click Sales from the left-hand navigation menu and then select the Forecast tab at the top of the screen. This will take you to the Forecasting dashboard, where a series of visual reports load automatically. Each chart updates in real time as you apply filters, making it easy to interact with the data and drill into what matters most.
Using Forecast Filters #
The Forecast tool includes several filtering options that let you refine your view and focus on specific data sets. You can filter by Date Range to narrow results based on line item run dates, or use the Periods filter to switch between monthly, quarterly, or yearly views. Additional filters include Sold by User to display deals assigned to specific team members, and Product, which lets you segment forecasts by product types currently in the pipeline.
As you adjust these filters, the reports update instantly—giving you fast, relevant insights without reloading the page.
Forecast Reports Overview #
The Forecast dashboard in MediaOS offers a range of built-in reports that provide insight into your sales pipeline from multiple angles. The Pipeline report uses color-coded bars to represent forecasted sales, organized by product. By Product by Month breaks down projected revenue by product over time, while Rep Sales offers a side-by-side comparison of performance across your sales team.
Other available reports include Page Count by Size, which highlights projected volume based on ad unit dimensions, and Page Count by Rep, which shows volume by sales rep with color coding for size. The Product Type report categorizes forecasted revenue by product type and rep, offering a segmented view of upcoming sales. By Pipeline Status gives a month-by-month overview of deals by stage, and the Pages report summarizes the total number of forecasted pages per product for each month. Together, these reports give your team the visibility they need to track performance, identify gaps, and plan strategically.

Tip: Hover over any report and click Add to Dashboard to pin it for easy access later.
Advanced Forecasting #
For custom forecasting and deeper analysis, click the Advanced Forecasting button at the top of the Forecast page. This opens a flexible report builder where you can group, filter, and segment data based on your needs.
Start by selecting an Insertion Date range, then use the Header Column to define how your columns are grouped—by product, time period, rep, or other values. Next, choose the Time Period for column intervals (such as monthly or quarterly), and set the Left Side Primary, which determines how rows are grouped. You can also apply a Group By field to create an additional layer of segmentation, such as grouping by Opportunity Status to see sales by pipeline stage.
Note: Your available options will adjust automatically depending on what you choose for the Header Column, allowing for dynamic configuration based on your reporting goals.
Exploring and Exporting Forecast Data #
Once your custom report loads, you can interact with it in multiple ways. Click any cell to open a detailed view, or use the dropdown in the side panel to change how the data is visualized. You can switch between tables, charts, or graphs using the Table dropdown, and click the Download icon to export your data as a CSV or Excel file.
When you're ready to save your work, click Save to store the report. You can also share it with your team or add it to your dashboard for ongoing access.
