SendGrid

TIPS
For low volumes sign-up for the base tier if you send less than 10k emails a month.
If you are using MediaOS for newsletters we recommend signing up for the Professional Tier. This will give you a dedicated IP address that will help with deliverability.
If you are sending more emails than that included in the base plan be sure to upgrade and select the email range of what you will be sending monthly for a cheaper rate.
Ensure DKIM records and SPF records are setup and verified. MediaOS will not send emails without verification.

Improve your Deliverability and Ensure Timely Emails Using Our Integration with SendGrid #

Email is changing daily. As Google and Apple continue to fight spam, publishers are being caught in the crossfire. While we are constantly fighting to get your campaigns out - sometimes the path of least resistance is using your own Email Domain through SendGrid.

To sign up for SendGrid go to the following link: SendGrid Pricing

After signing up, you will need to generate an API Key with Full Access - follow this documentation from SendGrid to generate the key.

Now it's time to integrate with MediaOS - click on your name in the bottom left, Integrations, then SendGrid.

Now paste your API Key into the given field:

Click "Save" and you will now be integrated with SendGrid.

This will allow your campaigns to be sent using your SendGrid account.

Preventing getting blocked by SendGrid #

To help prevent an account suspension on SendGrid we recommend following these steps:

We recommend sending in a support ticket to SendGrid to prevent an unexpected account suspension. Use the following template:

Dear SendGrid,

We are transitioning our email to utilize your service via a software called MediaOS to manage our campaigns. We are a news publisher called ______________. Our websites include: _____________. We will be sending email via the following email domains: _______________.

Our emails will include a combination of transaction emails for invoices, password resets, subscriber opt-ins, advertiser artwork collections and other business related emails. We will be using the Batch Email API to send timed email campaigns with a frequency of __________________ (Weekly, Monthly, Daily, 2x) with expected normal volumes of ______________ emails per send.

MediaOS uses a domain owned by them (https://mos-router.com) to perform click and open tracking in their system. Please ensure this domain does not get flagged as for malicious behavior as they explained it gets flagged by SendGrid almost automatically on first use.

Should you have any questions as we onboard to SendGrid please let us know. We are wanting to avoid any delays as we transition and avoid delays for unnessecary account suspensions.

Best regards,
XXXXXX, Publisher of XXXXXX

Frequently Asked Questions #

Will we need to coordinate with you to uncouple ourselves from the Default MediaOS SendGrid account?
No, once you enable the integration - you will automatically be sending campaigns through your own SendGrid Account

Once our own SendGrid account has been set up, what will change in our MediaOS experience?
Nothing! All functionality in MediaOS will be the same, however you will be able to access reporting by logging into SendGrid that you did not have access to in MediaOS.

Will the MediaOS Support Team continue to guide users on email campaign issues?
Yes, if the matter is directly related to MediaOS functionality we will help to troubleshoot, if the issue lies within a SendGrid account setup or use then we will either assist or point you in the correct direction to get help.

My campaign recipients are reporting that links in my emails are being blocked. What can I do?
This likely means that your Sendgrid account has custom tracking domains enabled but the domain is utilizing an out of date security certificate (SSL). While we recommend disabling custom tracking domains, this article contains information on how to issue an SSL certificate in Sendgrid.
