Switching QuickBooks Online Accounts

While we don’t recommend switching QuickBooks Online accounts once integrated with MediaOS, we understand that certain situations may require it. MediaOS offers a structured and supported process to help you transition from one QuickBooks account to another with minimal disruption.

Before moving forward with a switch, there are several important considerations to keep in mind. Our support team will assist you in fully disconnecting your current QuickBooks Online account from MediaOS. However, it’s important to note that once disconnected, all invoicing and payment data associated with the previous account will be removed from your MediaOS system. You will be responsible for exporting a complete copy of your invoices and payment records prior to the disconnection. MediaOS does not support the merging or importing of historical data into your new QuickBooks account. Additionally, after connecting the new account, you’ll need to re-map all products and accounts to align with your updated QuickBooks configuration.

If you determine that switching to a new QuickBooks Online account is necessary, follow these steps to complete the process successfully:

Start by contacting the MediaOS support team at support@mediaos.com. A support representative will coordinate a call to walk you through the transition process. Before anything is disconnected, be sure to export all invoices and payments from your current MediaOS account, as these records will no longer be accessible once the switch is complete.

Your new QuickBooks Online account must be prepared in advance. This includes importing all necessary accounts, invoices, and payments, and creating any needed QuickBooks Items within the new environment. Once all this is in place, reach back out to your MediaOS support contact and confirm that you are ready to proceed with the switch.

At that point, our team will sever the connection between your current QuickBooks Online account and MediaOS, and confirm that all accounting data has been removed from the system. Once you receive that confirmation, you’re ready to connect your new QuickBooks Online account.
