Time-based One Time Password (TOTP)

MediaOS now offers one time passcodes for two-factor authentication (2FA). Just a heads up – in order to use this feature you must use a password manager

Setting Up TOTP #

To enable this feature, you need to click on your profile icon at the bottom of the screen. Next, select Personal Settings from the list of options. Your profile information will appear, as well as an orange button labeled “Setup Two Factor Authentication.” Click the button.

You will be redirected to a new page with “Configure Two-Factor Authentication” at the top and a QR code to the left.

  • Follow the instructions on the page. You will need to install a password manager (Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, Authy, 1Password, LastPass, Microsoft Authenticator, etc.) if you do not already have one
  • Open your authentication app click the “+” icon in the top-right
  • Scan the QR code with your phone’s camera

Once you scan the barcode, enter the 6-digit verification code generated by the app. You should see a green pop-up that confirms Two-Factor Authentication has been activated.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when setting up TOTP:

  • You must use a password manager
  • You will only be asked for a code the first time using a new Ip across the account
  • TOTP is optional to set up
  • Admins can see who has TOTP enabled under Users
